4 in 1 blog!

Okay okay... I'll blog! Finally..

You know, holidays are nearly over! I just realised how much homework i have to do, and how little time i have. And the trial exam this thursday. Argh!

Anyhow, I don't have the discipline to write a 1000+ word 6in1 post like some people.. ><. 1. Teacher's meeting! (Kids ministry)
Last thursday was one of the few teacher's meetings i've been to this year, regrettably. Especially during the school term, it's hard to find time to get everything done with sacs, homework stress etc etc etc. But it was really good to attend this one day - during the holidays with much less on my mind.

I learnt many valuable lessons from this meeting, from leading worship with Audrey and Qynn's message. I shared a verse from Psalm 9:1-2...

1 I will praise you, O LORD, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonders.

2 I will be glad and rejoice in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.

This verse really says that God wants us to worship Him with ALL of our hearts. Not half-heartedly, but COMPLETELY from our heart, with everything we have. This really challenged me, as a worship leader in kids ministry, some Sundays I'm half asleep whilst trying to get into His presence. And if i close my eyes, I'll probably fall asleep ><. He wants us to worship him with our lives in spirit and in truth - that is all he asks of us.

Quentin shared something really cool as well... he made a comparison between a car and kids ministry: if even one small wire in the car isn't working, then the car won't be able to move, let alone go anywhere. So even the very small details in our ministry - such as saying 'hi' to kids in the morning can really have a lasting and significant impact on our kids ministry as a whole. We also had quite a competitive game, naming small details that we as leaders should aim to be doing. Unfortunately, due to LAMENESS, our 'awesome' line was rejected and thus, we lost.

Sigh.

But nevertheless, this has opened my eyes to the small little details that we need to be wary about - the small '1 percent-ers' that make all the difference.

To close off a very eventful day (lacking study), I caught up with some friends from DCC (my previous school) and stayed the night. Full of pizza, Halo3 (which I completely suck at), guitar hero (the best game ever!), family guy and summer heights high, this was an awesome way to put my legs up and enjoy the true essence of the holidays.

I woke the next morning with like three hours sleep, and went to the optometrist. Apparently I need glasses. For reading. Yay! So funny, one eye is longsighted, the other is short sighted. Weird right?

2. McDonald's templestowe, HAWTHORN ROCKS!

Saturday was another awesome day for kids ministry, our annual teacher's appreciation lunch! A day full of posing, posing and..hmm..more posing was good fun! We played a variety of games, from chocolate balloon popping?? to celebrity heads. Funniest moment of the day, however, goes to Joshua Tan Wei Ren.

We were playing 'cartoon celebrity heads', and Grace had 'Kim Possible'.

Grace: "Does my character have a surname that I know of?"

Josh: "Hmm. Possibly."

LOL

I also discovered that half of our kids leaders can't spell x-cite right...wait I think it's x-site. I'm not sure really..

And audrey is a nerd. So is rachel.

But straight after that, I had to race home to catch the final half of the AFL grand final! The biggest event on the football calendar - one that I haven't been following for years now, on the last Saturday in September. I have supported the mighty Hawks since primary school...when Shane Crawford was captain. Yes, a long time ago..but I kinda ditched them..because they sucked! Gar!! But but but..since they made the grand final..I decided to watch it! And against the odds, Hawthorn came from behind, as the underdogs to take the 2008 premiership flag! YAY! YAY! YAY! Suck geelong! hahah =P Buddy franklin = awesome.

I was very happy..and still am!

3. Soccer: Kids' Leaders vs. Fungus leaders

I don't think I've ever played so much soccer in one week. I think around eight hours this week. Crazy much.. Our kids team has been training hard this entire week - fitness, skills and shooting! An event that many were looking forward to today, the first ever futsal game between fungus & kids ministries. Our team, consisting of Nick, shaun, josh, jon, tim and myself had an entire strategy worked out for every situation - one that proved useless in the end. Aiyoh..

We went in brimming with confidence, only to be utterly disappointed. We started off the game hyped up and ready, full of powerade (the ultimate anti-cramp solution...seriously works!) and adrenaline. After we scored the first goal, and the roar of the awesome crowd, we were ready than ever! But after they scored several goals in succession, our morale was quite deflated.

Sigh.

The final score: 13-6. I managed to score two goals (i missed another two right in the goal square >.<), which I can't really complain about. They were quite awesome too! Though plagued with fatigue and aching muscles, we continued to play on, encouraged by the excited audience who (happily) came to support us!

"FGA kids leaders are awesome!"

I know right? LOL yay!

Oh well. The other team played unbelievably better than expected, just goes to show, you should never underestimate anyone.

But it was quite an action packed, interesting and fun weekend...

one to remember.

and i beat steph's tetris score! 31234! =]

:]

Till next time,

Daniel

PS/ I just realised..it's only 3 in 1. My bad. >.<

Edit: Steph just beat my score. Ouch. ><

Awesome Amazing Audrey Tan Hui Yaa

As you all may have noticed, I have found myself a new blog skin!
After twenty minutes of trying to install the skin myself, showing no progress whatsoever, I decided to ask the blogging queen for help: Miss Aud-"blog"tastic.

So being the helpful person she is, audrey agrees to fix up my sexy new blog! As blonde as I may sound at this point, being completely humbled by the works of this stubborn and merciless blog template - even the best struggle in their vain attempts to gain control over this delusive foe.
THE BLOG. *scary sound effects*

So, over the course of two (or three?) hours, Audrey was working furiously hard, helping me fix my annoying blog. Initially I didn't expect this to be such a complex and lengthly task, but as the minutes ticked by, I was beginning to feel quite gulity.. because she has an assignment due tomorrow - which she hasn't written yet! =O So I shall give her all the help she needs..if she needs =D

I just want to say thankyou to AUDREY! for your help in making this blog so pretty and beautiful like me, (LOL) and for all of your time! You rock. You rock! &Thankyou so much!

But the highlight of the day was this: (you might notice audrey's link as just that...)

wat. a. coincidence. huh.

Also, might I add, during audrey's hard hard work, I was NOT wasting time! Oh no, I was not doing my homework, I was hc tetris training! Tspins are my new best friends, after bringing my triumph over the champion tetriser stephanie Loh. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH THIS MEANS! Ever since the start of my tetris 'career', I have always been behind this one person. By a margin of 6 at one point, this was quite a ferocious competition - a score I could never break. But today! Something was to change! Not just my blog skin, but a new highscore for me! YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY! So to all my adoring tetris fanclub out there, thankyou. haha xD I wish.

Anyway..I am exhausted right now..This afternoon, I went on a 40km bike ride from doncaster to eltham, to bullen, and back again. Chaii. It was so damn tiring. The weather was great though :P We managed to see kangaroos (or wallabies, not sure) and bunnies. which were very cute.
Anyhow.
Thankyou again to Audrey, whose 18th birthday is coming up very soon...
I stand in awe of your 'au-some' blogging html skills, and, am once again flabbergasted. (i promised myself i would use that word in a blog LOL)
And hope you enjoy my new skin!

Dan13L.

PS/ Stephi...let the tetris games begin!

Flip a coin.

For all you people out there who are plagued with the trait of indecisiveness, here is your answer!
Whether it be deciding what to wear, what to do, what to buy, etc etc etc...following much experimentation and scientific thought..we have come up with one single answer.

FLIP. A. COIN.

Cool right? Reminds me of batman... Sometimes it annoys me..how I can never make decisions, or someone else. So here is an awesome solution! Haha...

This week I've been deciding whether or not to get a haircut. Following Audrey's last minute "DITCHAGE" of me, (she was meant to get a haircut aswell..) I was torn between two binaries...
getting a haircut at beautybank, or getting a haircut by the extremely qualified, awesome and skilled hairdresser.. Aud-rey.

So there I was..flipping a coin.
I decided...
Heads - ill get it cut 2mrw in box hill.
Tails - aud-tastical will cut it. (NOT THIS ONE. NOOO)

The result was...
TAILS.
=

(it was more dramatic than that, really)

SHUCKS :O

AHHH! Stephi's reaction was quite hilarious though:

stephaniee: lol. im gonna miss ur hair

but it won't be that bad..

anyway..enough dramaticism..

Today marks the first day of the school holidays! (weeks begin on Sundays, remember?) This term flew by unbelievably quickly, and quite a daunting homework schedule awaits me..With essays overdue from term 3, and end of year exams approaching, including my 3/4..i wouldn't call them holidays... as our school calls them: "non instructional private study".

Haha. No.

Lol. But life isn't as dreary and grey as I may make it sound, holidays are a time of rest and FUN, and especially sleeping in till late. Talking of that, I'm beginning to feel sleepy now... Should i sleep? Nah..i gotta blog..but..hmm..uh... just flip a coin! =D

Well..holidays (study days?), here I come!

Nites =]
Dan.

(colourless. i know ^^) PS. I need a new blog skin. This is getting boring!

The Lord is my strength..

You Raise me up
Josh Groban

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up... To more than I can be.

Holidays!

Three more days of school! Two more days of sacs! Three more assignments to start and finish! And... High School Musical 3!

Wooo!

This term has zoomed by, and I haven't even realised it yet! For some reason, I don't think I've been trying enough this term. Lol, tetris is way better..right? But next term I really gotta be serious ><.. Term 4 = my 3/4 exam. Week five! Scary much.. the two most important hours of my life to date.. Shucks! But then again stressing won't do me much good.. I'm currently finishing my last SAC for classics before the trial exam and the final exam. Nearly there. ^.^

Tomorrow marks our school concert in Hamer Hall. So...I get the day off! Yay... Wandering around the city shall be quite fun. =] My last school concert..soon vce will be over. Hopefully very soon. =.="

And being my narcissist self, how can I blog without talking about my hair? Yes..next week I am going to have a haircut..finally. It's been way too long (pardon the pun) and it's time to get it cut.. I spent over an hour helping audrey decide on a hairstyle to choose...after browsing through dozens of pictures of boa (she's quite hot ;]), audrey decides to choose the FIRST PHOTO. *Sigh.
Well beauty bank..here I come! =] Yay.

High School Musical 3 is coming out in November. After my exams. Woot! I'll be FREE! The trailers online are looking pretty cool, as do the MV's. Talking about MV's..I wonder who has the altitude one. I WANT! ^.^! I'm looking forward to the third and final of the trilogy..HSM3: Senior Year. Go Troy, Gabriella and SHARPAY. Woot =P

If I could summarise this week in dot points....
-Father's Day
- TETRIS SPRINT HIGHSCORE!! ^_^
- Classics Mega Sac
- School Concert
- HOLIDAYS!
- High School Musical 3.
- Rubik's Cubing

Till next time. (till holidays time!!)
In much excitement,
Daniel.
