TWELFTH YEAR

Why is it that whenever you mention "Year 12" to someone new,
their almost impulsive response is somehow related to either:

i) subject choices
ii) university
iii) current schooling
iv) and as of last week, midyears

(I am both a victim and a recidivist in this matter)

Isn't it possible to make generic conversation on a differing topic?
Life doesn't completely revolve around school, you know...
Well, realistically this year - it does.

I am dreading the mountain of notes that await me in Legal Studies, the endless practise exams; that will undoubtedly kill enough trees to supply enough firewood till heaven come, and of course, the stress of final exams.

The end is fast approaching, of which I am earnestly in anticipation of...
Finishing secondary school, CONSTANT, NON STOP PARTYING, University - my future.
The "premiership quarter" as our headmaster has made copious references to, is now transpiring.
From now on, it's heads down, tails up, or so to speak, and the commencement of final preparations for the championship finish!

Thanks to my good friends Facebook and MSN, my attempts to embark on this educational conquest is somewhat impeded, but I do intend on overcoming these petty adversaries, with one focus, finishing the race, and doing so well.
(I sincerely apologise about the abundance of sporting metaphors)

Good luck to us all; we privileged few, fortunate enough to grace the education system with our budding minds and intellect - summed up in a single score on December 13th...hardly a representation of thirteen prolonged, frustrating, and painstaking years of schooling.

If you can survive VCE, I'm convinced you can subdue just about anything.

dan.

Freebies

Went to the monash open day today.
Spent the day with lovely people.
Helped myself to many freebies!
Bears, a frisbee, a bouncy ball, pens and lollies.
Had a very fruitful day...

The wind was quite annoying - a nightmare for my hair.
But nonetheless refreshing...
Okay it was simply irritating.

Melbourne Uni open day is soon.
MORE FREEBIES!
