Ticket inspecting isn't a real job.
The heading says it all.Next stop, failures and underachievers.
Lost you? Sorry, I was referring to ticket inspectors.
Congratulations on your $20,000 salaries a year; do you honestly gain any satisfaction in apprehending and intruding into the lives of everyday civilians, whose only desire is to have a pleasant, uninterrupted, timely and efficient service?
Unfortunately, Metlink has failed to provide any of these.
What gives these 'public transport officers' the right to fine people, flaunting their shiny badges and hiding in their fashion-insulting trench coats? Where'd you get them from, the children's dress up shop? Such authority can hardly be taken seriously.
The time Metlink finally decides to commence providing punctual and efficient tram, bus and train services, without arrogant ticket inspectors ruining a potentially enjoyable ride is the time I will continue to buy Metcards.
Rather, I'm in anticipation of the new Myki system - perhaps this system be able to provide a better alternative to the outdated, uncoordinated inefficient and unexcusable service that we must depend on.
For those law abiding citizens, for the benefit of us fare evaders out here, I have a piece of advice for you:
Take as long as you can when being checked, buying sufficient time for others like myself to get off at the next stop :)
Ticket inspecting isn't a real job. Go and pursue something better and more beneficial to society...like a sewer rat.
